Griffett Lab

Nuclear Receptor Pharmacology, Drug Discovery & Chemical Biology

Investigating the role of nuclear receptors in cardio-metabolic diseases, diabetes complications, cancer, and inflammatory pain to develop novel tools and therapeutics.

The Griffett Lab is looking for a Ph.D student interested in evaluating novel, non-opioid compounds in pain models. Our lab is NIH funded and there is the potential for internal funding (prestigious fellowship) for a prospective graduate student. Interested students must have a background in molecular biology, physiology, and cell biology as demonstrated by transcripts/recommendation letters.

If you are a hard-working, self-motivated, team player that wants to learn about nuclear receptor pharmacology in chronic and acute pain, then check out the application link below.

The Griffett Lab is now at Auburn University! Our main research focus is on Nuclear Receptor Pharmacology and Drug Discovery. We utilize a variety of in vitro and in vivo methods to elucidate physiological roles of nuclear receptors, and collaborate with some of the best medicinal and computational chemists to develop and characterize novel compounds. There is a lack of selective and efficacious chemical probes to study many of these receptors in animal models of disease. We aim to develop these tools so that the translational value of these receptors becomes a reality!
